As an independent, volunteer-run library our costs are pretty low, but we still have to pay rent! Our current fundraising goal is £400/month to cover rent and bills. We have some money in the bank, and ongoing donations of £100/month, and we’re looking for more ongoing donations to help us become sustainable.
You can be a friend of the library as an individual or as an organisation, and in return you get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping a queer-led community resource keep running. Plus we’ll send you our quarterly Friends of the Library newsletter letting you know what we’ve been up to, and an invitation to an annual Friends of the Library thank you event.
If you’d like to become a friend we suggest between £5 and £100 a month, depending on how much you feel comfortable with. We don’t accept monthly donations of over £100 a month to avoid undue influence from any one source.
Individuals can become a friend by emailing us on desk@thepridelibrary.org to set up a monthly standing order, or subscribe on Patreon. We’d prefer you to set up a standing order if possible as Patreon takes a significant cut!
Union branches and community organisations may want to pass a motion to formally affiliate. If you’d like us to come speak at a meeting where you’re discussing becoming a friend of the library, or you’ve already passed a motion, get in touch on desk@thepridelibrary.org.
