Donations
We take book donations in person and by post. We take direct bank transfers and standing orders (this is our preferred method of monetary donation so that we can avoid paying service charges, please email us for bank details). We take cash and card donations in person. We take donations via QR code. We take donations via Patreon.com/ThePRIDELibrary (least preferred donation method).

Fundraising + Affiliation
We’ve been lucky enough to have local groups like @mycomanchester and transanger soundsystem approach us to offer to fundraise for us with their events (posters included above). Circulating these events is useful, but even more helpful is buying tickets or showing up and spending money. If you would like to help us fundraise please don’t hesitate to contact us with your ideas and offers. We also had a month of our rent paid by Unite NW 389. If you’re in a union branch or organisation that would like to support us we have a model motion here: https://thepridelibrary.org/friends-of-the-pride/model-motion/

Volunteering
If you would like to get more hands on in helping with the day-to-day of library operations, please send us an email and we’ll arrange a time for you to come in and learn how everything works, at your own pace. The library has always ran entirely on volunteered labour and this will continue until our financial situation has changed drastically, so we’re enthusiastically accepting all help in keeping this project alive for our communities.
Why do we need the help?
First off, we’re only human. Our core team is small and of varying capacities. We’re all trans, queer, and disabled. Besides donation we’ve received no funding but that from our members’ own benefits payments and savings. Nobody pays us a wage and nobody profits financially from our work. We do this purely because we want political education to be as accessible as possible, especially for workers and the unwaged. We do this so that there’s a space that’s ours that we can’t be pushed out of.
The person spending the most time running the library has several trials approaching for taking direct action against Israeli drone factories, and another member of our team is her carer, so later in the year they’ll be away for weeks at a time. We’d like to keep the library open and operating during this time if possible, but for that we’ll need more hands on deck. If you can contribute your time, resources, or talents please contact us with how you’d like to help.
